Nepal Homestay Program
SVPI is offering a new volunteer homestay program in Dhading, Nepal.
Our homestay cultural program begins in Kathmandu with tours of major cultural sites. We will then head to Nalang village, Dhading where we will stay with a local family for 7 nights.
During your stay in the village you will be involved in volunteer activities such as English teaching, health and hygiene programs and will be involved with all aspects of village life. No experience necessary and all ages welcome. Reasonable level of fitness required.

Dates: 8th – 21st Dec 2017
$1295 AUD (2 week program)
Day 1 – Arrive Kathmandu – orientation program.
Day 2 –Exploration one of Kathmandu’s main tourist attractions such as ‘Swayambhunath’, the ‘Monkey Temple’ and the Tibetan Boudhanath stupa.
Day 3 – Old town of Kathmandu tour including Dubar Square.
Day 4 – Travel to Nalang, Dhading to meet homestay family.
Day 5 – 12 – Homestay volunteer program. Mornings- teach English or conduct hygiene education lessons. Afternoons helping with village chores.
Day 13 – Depart village and travel back to Kathmandu.
Day 14 – Departure from Kathmandu.
Notes: This program requires a minimum of 8 volunteers. There will be 2 people at each homestay and the group will work together as a team and have dinners together each night with alternating host families.
