Volunteer in Cambodia

SVPI conducts health promotion and first aid education programs in villages outside Siem Reap, Cambodia.

Our volunteer program begins in the capital Phnom Penh with a visit to the Killing Fields before travelling to Siem Reap. Using this as our base we will visit outlying villages and providing health education and basic health assessments, before heading back to Phnom Penh.

No healthcare skills are required for this program and it is open to all ages with any level of education/life experience. We are able to tailor the program to take full advantage of the array of different skills our volunteers can bring to the program.

All volunteer programs are designed to give you the opportunity to have fun in the bustling towns of Phnom Penh and Siem Reap and explore the amazing Angkor Wat temples. You will also experience village life and get to know and eat with local families.

Trip duration:

2 weeks

Programs dates available:

2nd – 17th December 2017

6th – 21st January 2018

Hi, I’m interested in either the December or January trip but was planning on also going on my own trip either before or after the program began. is that ok to do that or is there requirements as to when we have to fly in and out (in a group)? Also, I’m not planning on doing nursing or social work, is this still ok?

Hi I’ve been to Cambodia a few times. It’s my favorite travel destination. I currently work in aged care. I was wondering if I’d be qualified enough. I have also a diploma in Mental health. I also understand there is very little help and advice for families who have elderly family members living with dementia. I have worked in dementia enclosed alot in the past and would like the people of Cambodia to have a better understanding of it. I’m interested in volunteering.

Hi Melinda, thanks for getting in touch. It sounds like the skills you have would be very useful in Cambodia. I have emailed you some more information. 🙂
