Healthcare & Health Promotion

In December 2020 SVPI will be running a program to undertake healthcare and health promotion program in an isolated Nepalese village in the Chepang hills and also a jungle village close to the Indian border. No healthcare experience necessary. Volunteers of all ages and backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Apply now or contact us for more information.

The villages in the Chepang Hills, Chitwan are only reached after a strenuous 6- 8-hour trek from the trailhead. It represents a forgotten region of Nepal, missing out on the help provided to more popular and accessible areas.

Time will be spent in Sauraha running health programs at some other villages (Padampur, Manihari and Devghat- an elders’ home).

We will also spend a few nights in a village located on the edge of the jungle, close to the Indian border. Pandaynagar is a 3-hour journey from Sauraha. It is isolated but a local lady provides basic, clean and safe homestay accommodation.

There will be also time for lots of fun activities including tours of Kathmandu’s cultural sites and a jungle safari in Chitwan National Park.
